Just finished the first few set of races of the season. First off, BSA Grand Prix Slalom! Race went really well, put down 2 good runs, 1st overall. Another slalom (Anglo Scottish) followed, my skiing was not consistent and a few mistakes unfortunately cost me the lead and finished in 2nd.
Then, change of discipline, Giant Slalom! First race (Anglo Scottish) was good! 2nd place, and to follow another GS (BSA Grand Prix) which I DNFed first run, yet decided to take the ‘nothing to lose’ attitude and skied on my sister’s FIS skis for the second run – success as I won the run by 0.49 seconds!
I now have a few days rest and a week and a half of training before I head to the Czech Republic to race in the Czech Nationals and the Ski Interkriterium International Races with the British Team.
